Abandoned Alice by Adriana Arden
*In the third book about Alice’s adventures in a – shall we say – ‘different’ version of the Wonderland, Adrianna Arden has run out of Lewis Carroll’s original works to adapt in her own unique style. Whilst that might seem like a handicap, in fact it means that she can let her wonderful imagination run truly free, giving us situations which are more bizarre still than the two books before.
Also, it’s nice to see a novel on this subject where what goes on is depicted as consensual, without losing any of the excitement of the narrative. Not easy, but Ms Arden manages it.
