Lord Wraxall's Fancy by Anna Lieff Saxby
*It’s a shame that Anna Lieff Saxby only wrote one book because this is quality. For a Black Lace novel it has an intriguing plot with character conflict and development, and a cast of interesting characters who get into some very inventive sexual situations. You won’t have read anything like this anywhere else.
Of course the real reason to read this is Lord Wraxall himself, who genuinely deserves to be listed as one of fiction’s great bad guys you hate to love. He has humour, style, and with his cool arrogance and obvious wit, steals every scene he’s in. He even has a vulnerable moment, though you might blink and miss it.
I really hope that Anna Lieff Saxby writes more someday, because her fans miss her
